German pancakes, 07.03.10
I took the week off baking to recover from last week’s marathon, but I found myself short on breakfast food and long on eggs — which, obviously, I don’t consider breakfast food on their own — so I thought about giving pancakes a try. The cool thing about these is that they don’t require flipping (so I can’t burn them), they cook in cake pans in the oven (so I don’t have to pay attention and can watch House instead), they turn out all curly (not just mine! check the link!), and they’re ridiculously easy, even without a blender. I opted for butter and powdered sugar on top, which is supposedly traditional, and was full after one, so Sunday’s covered too.
